Shell Trading & Supply has a global portfolio of crude oil, refined products, LNG, chemicals natural gas, electrical power and CO2. Trading offices are located in the US, Canada, UK, Singapore, The Netherlands, Japan, Barbados, Dubai and Russia, with many other downstream entities situated across the globe. This particular role will be supporting the Trading and Supply business in Rotterdam, and working closely with the business stakeholders in that location.

The successful candidate will be part of a team of Contracts Coordinators and Advisors in Rotterdam providing support to the Trading and Supply business. This role includes tasks critical to the completion of cargo movements such as the endorsement and distribution of Shipping Documents and the creation of documents such as Certificates of Origin needed to enable cargo importation.
The Document Handling Analyst will be part of the Contracts team and will report into the Contracts Team Lead in Rotterdam. The Analyst will be asked to familiarise him/herself with contracts coordinator activities to be able cover for colleagues if so required.
Process received Shipping Document sets, including the checking of Bills of Lading and endorsement of these to receiving counterparties, in a timely manner
Work with internal and external counterparts on the correction and receipt of Shipping Documents
Maintain up to date log of Shipping Document status and location
Work with internal and external counterparts – including the Chamber of Commerce on the creation of Certificates of Origin needed for cargo importation
Work with internal and external counterparts to endorse copy Bill of Lading where needed for cargo importation
Work with internal and external counterparts on the creation of Supplier Letter or Agreement needed for the release of customer payments
Maintain shipping document records in an easily retrievable way that is audit ready and compliant at all times; periodically send paper records to external storage to effectively manage office storage space

We are looking for a candidate who is part-time available (approx. 16 hours per week), who is flexible and can work extra hours when needed (for example, during holidays of the team member).
The candidate must be detail-oriented, accurate and be able to work well under pressure. Ideally, the incumbent should have experience and or interest in working in an operational environment with focus on oil contracting and operations with IT skills. Relevant training for trading systems will be provided to support the desk activities.
