About the job

About the job

Shell is operating one of the best laboratories in the industry. Experimental capabilities include geomechanics, PVT, geochemistry and special core analysis (SCAL). Few, if any companies, have a similar integrated experimental capability chain. The key differentiator is the combined availability of essential technologies/capabilities, competencies and capacity. As member of the team operating and further developing these laboratories you have a unique opportunity for personal development, training and exposure to multiple disciplines.
This fullltime position is specifically focused on experimental geomechanics which is part of the Shell Hydrocarbon Technology business unit. We provide high quality experimental capabilities/data and related analyses & interpretations of reservoir rocks and fluids.
Geomechanics provides data, analyses and solutions related to oil and gas production. Challenges in this area are a) compaction/subsidence, b) top seal integrity, c) fault reactivation and related induced seismicity, d) sand production, e) bore hole stability, f) hydraulic fracturing and g) pore pressure prediction. The current R&D focus is very much on compaction and subsidence, the behavior of the reservoirs during production, induced seismicity and deep-water oil and gas fields.
You will be responsible for the execution of experiments related to these challenges.
