As an accounting associate, you are responsible for the financial administration within the headquarter of the shared service center of this American trading company. You ensure compliance with reporting and the company policies and make sure that the monthly and quarterly balance sheet reviews are well prepared. With all the knowledge you retrieve from the financial statements, you analyze, advice and communicate recommendations to managements and colleagues. Your responsibilities include:

  • Prepare monthly journal entries
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and balance sheet analysis
  • Maintain the Customer program subledgers, analyze the P&L and Balance sheet movements,
  • Actively participate in the monthly, quarterly and year end closing process
  • Assist in supporting internal and external audit requests as needed
  • Submit monthly cash flows
  • Review large and/or complex entries for process improvement opportunities
  • Participate in several ad-hoc projects

What we offer

You will get a fulltime (40/32) contract for a longer-term. The position is open as a replacement for someone from the team.

Job requirements

  • Financial and/or Management Accountant with an accountancy degree or equivalent accountancy qualifications (US GAAP/SOX knowledge is a pre);
  • 2-3 years accounting experience (within an international or multi-subsidiary environment would be advantageous);
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Pro-active attitude with regard to possible improvements to administration;
  • Ability to prioritise work and work to tight deadlines;
  • A flexible team player who adapts well to new developments;
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, Knowledge of the Ducth language is not needed.
  • Knowledge of SAP or other comparable financial packages is preferable;
  • Meticulous nature and good attention to detail;
  • Ability to analyse problems and recommend actionable suggestions for change;

The company you will be working for is a long existent American trade company with its international financial headquarters based in the Netherlands, Tilburg area. The organization employs over 25 different nationalities and trades with many renowned brands.

They are located in Goirle, near Tilburg. The company provides shuttle buses from Tilburg Central Station for their employees which makes it easily accessible for you if you are traveling from Breda, Den Bosch or Eindhoven.
