One of Shell’s goals is to become a net-zero emissions energy business by 2050. To achieve this ambition across the organization, Shell is setting up new ways of working. Also, within the Supply Chain organization, we are proactively identifying ways to work collaboratively with our suppliers to reduce emissions across our value chain. Recently, Shell introduced the Supplier Energy Transition Hub which is a digital platform that support suppliers to meet their emissions reduction ambitions.
Within the Supply chain Strategy Team, we are currently looking for two different profiles in which we offer an internship, there are 1. Focusing on Sustainability, strategy, and communications, and 2. Focusing on Digital Platforms. Depending on your studies, interests, and expertise we encourage you to apply to the area most relevant to you.
Both types of internships sit within the same team. The team you will be working in is responsible for defining the supply chain strategy for sustainability. Currently a big project within this team is the introduction of a new digital platform to the market, that will help drive down supply chain emissions. The key target audience is Shell’s supplier base.
The strategic/ communications role will focus on further embedding this tool across the supplier base, to ensure that they see the value of this tool and actively use it. Strategic positioning questions will need to be answered (partnerships, commercial models). Focus will be on positioning strategy, Branding, Communications and change and engage.
The digital role will focus on enhancing existing features and exploring new disruptive technologies in the digital sustainability space such as ledgers, cryptography, artificial intelligence. You will be working in a global team and work directly with the Digital Lead for Sustainable Supply Chains in Shell. Knowledge of digital platforms, digital business models, emerging digital technologies, is preferred but not required.

You follow a hbo/wo study with a focus on Economics, Business, Communication, Marketing; or
You follow a hbo/wo study with a focus on Business, Emerging tech, Software engineering or similar
You can work independently, are detail oriented but still manage to keep an overview
You have a creative mind, are innovative and are comfortable with working in a dynamic and fast-changing environment
You are a team player and do not have a 9-to-5 mentality
You are available for a minimum of 3 to 6 months for 32-40 hours per week
You have an affinity with the energy transition
Preferably you can start as soon as possible but this is negotiable.

About the company
You will work in a young and small team and together with other teams on the Decarbonisation Programme. Eventually you will work in a team of four interns where two focus on digital development and two focus on the strategy. It is possible to work from home or from the office in Amsterdam, Den Haag or Rotterdam.
